Studio Lindennest

Eco-friendly holiday rental apartment in Bavaria, Germany

problem

Studio Lindennest is a small holiday apartment in Bavaria, created with natural materials such as clay plaster and wood and designed to feel calm, warm and personal rather than like a typical rental. The owners needed a brand and digital presence that reflected that character, while also making the practical side of running the apartment easier: a website and one calendar connecting the different booking platforms.

solution

I developed the brand identity and website around the studio’s natural materials, soft character and connection to the region. The visual language combines a hand-drawn feel with a calm, understated look that carries through the website, printed materials and social media. The website brings the different booking channels together into one central calendar, while SEO and GEO were built into the site to improve how the studio can be found through both traditional search and AI-driven search. Beyond the website, I created custom illustrated postcards for guests, coordinated photography and helped shape the visual direction for the studio’s own Instagram presence.

“Lindennest” translates to “linden nest”, a name that already suggests something sheltered, warm, and closely connected to nature. Studio Lindennest is a small guest studio in Bavaria, Germany, created as part of a larger building project with a strong focus on natural materials and sustainable construction. Clay plaster, lime wash, wood, and other ecological materials shape the character of the space.

The identity needed to reflect that approach without feeling rustic or overly traditional. It had to feel personal, calm, and inviting, while still working as a professional hospitality brand.

I developed a hand-drawn visual language that mirrors the character of the studio and the region around it. Custom illustrations, soft forms, and a natural color palette help give the brand a warm and slightly imperfect feel, while the overall layout remains clean and contemporary.

The brand extends beyond the screen. I created a series of custom illustrations for postcards guests can take home or send, giving the stay a small physical reminder after they leave. I also coordinated the photography for the apartment and helped establish the visual direction for its Instagram content, so the same atmosphere carries through from the website to social media.

Studio Lindennest launched in May 2026 and was fully booked in its first year. It is currently booking around five months in advance. A strong start for a new independent rental and a good example of how branding, digital experience, visibility and the actual space can work together rather than as separate pieces.
